Definition
元素 is the most general word for 'element' — it covers abstract components, chemical elements, and mathematical set members. In contrast, 因素 refers to a causal factor, 成分 to an ingredient in a mixture, 要素 to an essential/key element, and 零件/部件 to physical parts of a machine or system.
