Definition
傻 (shǎ) means 'foolish, silly' and is the most common everyday word for someone who is naive, gullible, or does something unwise. It's less harsh than 笨 (bèn 'slow-witted') and 蠢 (chǔn 'dull, stupid'), and can also mean 'stunned, dumbfounded' (e.g., 吓傻了 'scared stupid'). 愚蠢 (yúchǔn) is more formal and literary.
