Definition
假面具 literally means 'false face mask' — a mask you wear on your face (like a prop or costume). But it's far more commonly used as a metaphor for a false front or façade in social behavior: someone who hides their true feelings or intentions behind a friendly or virtuous appearance. When you say someone '摘下假面具' (takes off their mask), you mean their true (often unpleasant) nature is finally revealed.
