倒车 (dào chē) specifically means to reverse a vehicle — the 车 ('vehicle') makes it clear. Unlike 后退 (hòu tuì) 'step back' (for people or things) or 倒退 (dào tuì) 'fall back' (broader), 倒车 is only used for driving. It is a separable verb (离合词): you can say 倒了一次车.
