Definition
修理 is the general everyday verb for 'to repair/fix' physical objects (machines, furniture, etc.) and also 'to prune/trim' plants. It's broader than 维修 (wéixiū), which focuses on maintenance/servicing of equipment, and different from 收拾 (shōushi), which means 'to tidy up' or, colloquially, 'to fix someone'. For pruning, 剪 (jiǎn) is used specifically with scissors, while 修理 is used for larger trimming.
