Definition
保准 is a stative verb (s.v.) that can function both as an adjective meaning 'reliable, dependable' and as a verb meaning 'to guarantee, to assure'. As an adjective, it describes something or someone you can count on (e.g. 这个法子保准 'this method is reliable'). As a verb, it takes a clause or object and expresses confidence that something will happen (e.g. 我保准他没错 'I assure you he's not wrong').
