Definition
作伪 (zuō wěi) is a separable verb (离合词) meaning to forge or counterfeit. You can insert aspect markers, measure words, or duration between 作 and 伪: e.g., 作过伪 (have forged), 作了三天伪 (forged for three days). Unlike 伪造 (which is transitive and directly takes an object), 作伪 is intransitive and doesn't take a direct object; specify what is forged through context or a separate clause.
