体裁 (tǐcái) names the category or style of a creative work (e.g., novel, poem, sci-fi). Unlike 形式 'form' (the structure vs. content) or 样式 'style/pattern' (for products/designs), 体裁 is reserved for literary/artistic genres. Use it when classifying a piece by type.
