住房 (zhù fáng) is a general term for housing as a concept (e.g., housing prices). It is broader than 房屋 (fáng wū, a specific house) and less formal than 住宅 (zhù zhái, official 'residential'). For a personal place to live, use 住处 (zhù chù); 民居 (mín jū) means traditional folk houses.
