Definition
似的 (shì de) is a particle that attaches to a noun or verb phrase to mean 'as if, like' — it always follows the word it compares to, often paired with 像 (xiàng) as in '像…似的'. Unlike 好像 (hǎo xiàng) or 似乎 (sì hū), which are adverbs that can start a clause, 似的 is a particle that ends the comparison and cannot stand alone.
