伺 (cì) is a bound form (b.f.) that appears almost exclusively in the compound 伺候 (cìhou, 'to serve, to wait upon'). The gloss 'watch; await' is more typical of the homograph 伺 (sì), which means to watch or spy. Be careful not to confuse the two readings. 伺 (cì) cannot be used alone.
