Definition
估摸 is a colloquial verb meaning 'to reckon, to guess, or to figure approximately.' It's used in spoken Chinese, less formal than 估计 or 猜测. Often followed by 着 (zhe) in the pattern 估摸着 + [statement] to express a tentative guess based on one's judgment. The second syllable 摸 is pronounced in neutral tone (mo).
