优势 (yōushì) means 'advantage, superiority' and refers to a favorable position or edge over others in a competition or comparison. Unlike 好处 (hǎochù 'benefit, personal favor') or 优点 (yōudiǎn 'merit, strong point of a person/thing'), 优势 is about relative standing—you have an advantage over someone else. It's a noun, often used with 有 (have) or 占 (hold).
