份额 (fèn'é) refers to a share or portion of an overall total, especially in business contexts like market or profit share. It is closely related to 股份 (gǔfèn 'stock/share'), but 股份 specifically denotes equity shares in a company. 份额 is about proportional allocation, not physical weight (cf. 分量 fènliàng) or just a part (cf. 部分 bùfen).
