Definition
以至 (yǐ zhì) is a formal conjunction used in written Chinese. It has two main patterns: (1) to indicate a range extending to an extreme, often in the structure '从 A 以至 B' (from A all the way to B), and (2) to introduce a consequence after a statement of extreme degree, equivalent to 'so … that …' or 'to such an extent that'. It is more formal and emphatic than 所以 or 于是.
