Definition
代理人 (dài lǐ rén) refers to an agent who is formally authorized to act on behalf of another person or organization, especially in legal, business, or insurance contexts. It is more specific than 代表 (dài biǎo, 'representative'), which can also mean a delegate or symbol, and differs from 中介 (zhōng jiè, 'intermediary'), which focuses on facilitating transactions rather than representing a party.
