Definition
从事 (cóngshì) is a formal, written verb meaning 'to be engaged in' a profession, career, or serious activity, such as scientific research or literary writing. It is more formal than the everyday verb 做 (zuò), which can mean 'to do' any action, and it does not carry the sense of managing or running a business that 经营 (jīngyíng) does.
