Definition
人道 (rén dào) means 'humane/humanitarian' — it describes actions or policies that show compassion and respect for human welfare (e.g., 人道援助). It differs from 人类 (mankind as a species), 人性 (human nature), and 人文 (humanities/culture), which focus on other aspects of humanity. In Buddhism, 道 also refers to the 'human realm' in reincarnation.
