Definition
交接 (jiāo jiē) means 'to hand over and take over' (a two-way transfer, unlike the general 交 'hand in'), and also 'to come into contact' (of lines/surfaces) or 'to associate with' (formal dealings). For social association, 交往 (jiāo wǎng) and 来往 (lái wǎng) are more common in everyday speech; 交接 is more formal and procedural.
