Definition
争相 (zhēng xiāng) means 'to vie eagerly to do something,' with a strong sense of rushing to be first. 竞相 (jìng xiāng) is very similar but slightly more neutral, focusing on competition without the same urgency. Both are formal adverbs used before verbs.
