Definition
乘凉 means 'to relax in a cool place', especially outdoors in summer. It's a separable verb (离合词): the object 凉 can split off the verb 乘 when you add a duration, measure word, or other element between them, e.g. 乘了一会儿凉 ('relaxed in the cool for a while'). You don't put a direct object after 乘凉 — the 'cool place' is implied by context.
