Definition
主修 has two distinct verb meanings. The primary and most common use is 'to major in' an academic subject at university (e.g., 主修经济学). It also has a technical sense, 'to be responsible for the repair or maintenance of a device,' which is much rarer and mostly appears in engineering contexts. Note that the Taiwan usage of 主修 is identical to Mainland usage for the academic sense.
