Definition
为难 (wéi nán) describes feeling awkward or embarrassed because you're in a difficult situation where it's hard to decide or act. As a verb, it means to deliberately put someone in a bind. It's stronger than 尴尬 (gān gà), which focuses on the social awkwardness of a situation, and more about being caught between choices than the shyness of 害羞 (hài xiū).
