Definition
为期 (wéi qī) is a verb that specifies a duration or deadline, always followed by a time phrase. Unlike 长期 (long-term, an adjective/noun describing a quality of time), 为期 focuses on the length or end date of a specific event. Unlike 持久 or 永久 (lasting/enduring), 为期 is neutral and purely temporal, not about how long something continues.
