Definition
中奖 (zhòng jiǎng) means 'to win a prize' specifically in a lottery, raffle, or other game of chance — not used for winning a competition or award. Compare with 赢得 (yíng dé, general 'to win') and 获奖 (huò jiǎng, 'to win an award' in a formal contest). Note that 中奖 is a separable verb: you can say 中了一次奖 (won a prize once).
