Definition
两翼 (liǎng yì) means 'both wings' — used for the two wings of a bird, aircraft, or metaphorically for the flanks/wings of an army, organization, or political party. It always refers to a pair, unlike 翅膀 (chì bǎng) which is the general word for a single wing (or wings) of a bird/insect and is less formal. 两翼 is more common in military, political, or technical contexts.
