专业 (zhuān yè) refers to a specific field of study (major) or professional area. Unlike 职业 (zhí yè 'occupation'), which is your job, 专业 is about a subject or expertise. Compare 专门 (zhuān mén 'specially'), which describes a purpose, not a field.
