Definition
不符 (bù fú) is a verb meaning 'to not conform to' or 'to be inconsistent with' — it is used when something does not match a standard, requirement, or expectation. Unlike 出入 (chū rù, a noun for 'discrepancy'), 不符 is a verb describing the mismatch. 自相矛盾 (zì xiāng máo dùn) is a set phrase for self-contradictory statements, not for a mismatch between two things.
