不景气 is the standard adjective for an economy, market, or business being sluggish or in a slump. It is similar to 萧条 (xiāo tiáo), which implies a more severe depression or bleakness, and 低迷 (dī mí), which often describes a prolonged period of low activity and can also refer to low mood. 清淡 (qīng dàn) can mean business is slow but is milder and primarily used for 'light' food.
