Definition
不买账 is a colloquial fixed phrase meaning 'to not accept someone's authority or claims' — literally 'not pay the bill.' You use it when someone refuses to acknowledge a person's seniority, status, or a stated fact. The object (the person whose 'bill' you're not paying) goes between 买 and 账: 不买他的账 ('don't buy his act'). It's common in spoken Chinese and has a slightly defiant or dismissive tone.
