上映 (shàng yìng) is the standard verb for 'to screen/show a movie' in theaters. 放映 (fàng yìng) also means 'to show a film' but focuses on the technical act of projection, while 上演 (shàng yǎn) is used for stage performances (plays, operas) and can also refer to screening a movie/TV show.
