Definition
一对 (yí duì) is a classifier (measure word) for things that naturally come in pairs or twos — couples of people or animals, paired body parts (eyes, hands), or matching items (earrings, vases). It emphasizes the complementary nature of the pair, unlike 双 (shuāng) which is used for items like shoes or gloves that are functionally paired.
