Definition
一天 literally means 'one day', but as a fixed expression it often functions adverbially to emphasize the entire duration from morning till night ('all day long'). It is also used narratively to introduce a specific time in the past ('one day...'), and in literary contexts it can describe the whole sky covered with something (e.g., 一天星星 'a sky full of stars'). When used as a noun, it simply refers to a 24-hour period.
